The Morley Report Anonymous

Well Groover's tonight we have another blog from my mate Deb. I'm a bit under the weather tonight.... and here I was thinking it was Sydney and that I was too old to partay! hehehe.

I think it's more of a head cold (thank the LORD it isn't Man Flu!). So a big shout out to Deb for coming to my rescue! Thank my dear xxx And enjoy the read kids!

Take it away Deb....

Do you have any obsessions?? In my work I have found more and more people obsesses with social media.

OK I can personally confess that I need some serious help.

I have my BlackBerry no further than 1 metre away from me at any time, and I have a different ring to let me know if a call is coming in SMS/Facebook Message/Twitter/Photo and then a different ring for every email address. Gosh I am techno savvy.

Then I have my computer on 24/7 which has lead to my obsession with Facebook and emails, prior to breaking my foot and now only have 4 walls to look at, I would answer a business email, txt, facebook message within seconds.. Again clearly I need help.

So being in the Media and Social Media game, I of course have to be on top of ever major internet social media sensation, so let me tell you just what the primary sensations all mean:

And then if that isn’t enough for you, don’t forget to get into all of these :

And then there is my little obsession with that nasty little blog THE MORLEY REPORT.

Well I can’t live without it, and needless to say I was NOT impressed with this weekend MS MORLEY !! Oh Ms Morley needs to go off and have a wonderful time in Sydney. Well while the rest of us go 3 days without a report.

So I have decided to start The Morley Report Anonymous for all those people that go into severe depression if TMR isn’t out by 9pm, as I lay awake waiting for my special ding to tell me it’s posted.

We can all meet on The Morley Report Facebook page and talk about our hero Karen, talk about the blogs we have loved, and perhaps even bombard past blogs and leave messages for Karen as little treasures so that she is empowered to keep writing, otherwise the world may just come to an end. ☺

OK now that I have that out, feel free to contact me via my facebook page “The Butterfly Experience Media & PR” page and keep all my obsessions going, as I do love them.

Have a great day/night/weekend depending on when you read this.

Cheers

Deb

Branching out

So this morning I had an important event to attend.

Of course it meant not sleeping in on a Saturday morning, which was very sad :( Well for me anyways....

Embee Louise decided that she just couldn't get up on a weekend that early and had a little sleep in with her new Rabbit that Brenton gave her last weekend. Of course we named it "Brenton".

So I left Embee sleeping with Brenton... (The Rabbit) sounds kinda kinky! And off I went to my first ever Social Media workshop. I was very excited and had been really looking forward to it. I wasn't disappointed :)

My good friend Deb from The Butterfly Experience Media & PR came along as well and we had a quick coffee at a delightful cafe in Racecourse Road in Hamilton.

Here is the link to Deb's Facebook Page:

The Butterfly Experience Media & PR

So the workshop was being held by Art Bites - brisStyle

And the speaker this morning was the very interesting, very knowledgeable Jess from Epheriell Designs.

We also got meet some very lovely and very helpful ladies at the Registration desk too!

I found the session really helpful and it presented me with a lot of great ideas for the future. And it was great to be surrounded by both women and men that were just like me! Lucky things hehehe. Meaning that we were interested in learning more about Social Media.

Here is a pic of me at the workshop!

You see I have some BIG BIG plans for The Morley Report and for now let me just give you a little hint.... TRAVEL! Because we all know that for me "Travel is the Drug of my Choice". :)

There was also a table set up where we could leave our Business Cards and up until 5pm last night - I didn't have one!

So I whipped some up with the help of Jake, Deb and Ashlee and taaaa daaaaaa, may I present Version 1 of The Morley Report Business Card!!!!

I felt very proud of my little card :)

Here is the workshop in action!

You know I think it's such a great thing when you find something "That you REALLY TRULY love to do" anddddddd I think it's probably something that you Groover's are starting to learn about me, that's if you didn't already know! Yessssss I DO SO love to tell a story or 2 or 3 or 52! :)

We also had a chance to meet some very talented people and so let me introduce to you my new friend Anita from Anita Hammadache Photography & Design. Now as I have said before - Knowledge is POWER! And I know that Anita is just starting out and has a page on Facebook! It would be really great if you could help her out and do a little "Like" for her page!

Here is the link:

Anita Hammadache Photography & Design

Anita was very friendly and we had a great little chat and she shared some of her knowledge on Facebook Pages with me as well. Thanks Anita, it was great to meet you and I look forward to seeing more of your work on your Facebook Page! :)

So the morning session came to an end and I would like to take this opportunity to also thank Helen Berthold from BrisStyle who was sooo friendly and was kind enough to answer some of my questions as well. Thanks Helen :)

It was a great "Short Course" to attend on all things Social Media and let me give you a little inside tip - my good friend Deb will also be organising through her company

The Butterfly Experience Media & PR

her own Social Media courses to be run early next year. So keep an eye on her page for more info!

I had a great morning!

Then it was time to go get my Mojo on and have a sexy haircut with with the very talented Jess from Dextress Hair.

Here she is hard at work taking my money! hehehe.

Ahhhhhhh but it's all worth it. You even get the most amazing head and shoulder massage before they even start and they use one of these little beauties on you which feel absolutely amazing!

I really love going there and everyone is very friendly and they make you feel right at home and very pampered!

And here I am with my Mojo back in tact and ready to go on my holiday in one weeks time. That's 7 sleeps.... Yayyyy

So kids have a great night and talk to you tomorrow!

Doing it for the Boobies!

Well Groover's I sure travelled some kilometres over the weekend, but geez I had me some fun! ☺

It all started on Friday afternoon with my great friend Deborah Morandin collecting me from work for our little “Thelma & Louise” adventure down at Surfers Paradise for The Girls Night In. We just had to find us our own Brad Pitt and you knowwwwwwwwwwww there was that little Man Auction to look forward to....

We checked into the Holiday Inn and how lucky were we to be given a room on the 22nd Level with the most amazing views, thanks to Michelle Massey! We also had a little surprise of a lovely bottle of champagne with strawberries! Definitely a great way to start the evening ☺

Now the event was called “Girls Night In” Pink Party and it was a Cancer Council Pink fundraiser and my wonderful, brave and courageous friend Deborah Morandin was going to be the official speaker for the night.

So after having our champagne and strawberries we got ourselves beautiful and made our way downstairs to the Main Ballroom, which looked so lovely with all the decorations.

We also were given some great Goody Bags (that we went through much later in the night back in our room like little giggly school girls! Okkkk well maybe that was just ME!) and then I made my away around to look at all the tables with lovely things to buy.

All the money went to charity and there were some amazing products to check out.

I picked up some skin products to trial from

Arbonne

from the lovely Melissa Tan,

Deb purchased a lovely bracelet from

Caroline C.

and the candles and melts were amazing at

lemon canary

And we bought some delicious little baby cupcakes from Jay Fawckner from

BayBee Cupcakes

that we polished off back in our room later that night!

We also checked out the stall for Chatterbox and there was a competition to “Like” them on Facebook as they had a laptop set up to log in and for every "Like" they donated $1 to the cause.

By the end of the night Chatterbox raised $80 alone on those likes and Groover’s let me let you in on a little secret: Chatterbox is such a unique product and soooo cheap! Just the thing to get for that person you just NEVER KNOW what to get.

It’s a box of conversational cards and only costs $20! Here is their website and I would highly recommend a box or two for friends!

Chatterbox Collections

So the night was a huge success and the girls Michelle & Leanne our wonderful MC's for the night did an amazing job!

And whilst it was a lot of fun I loved how they also got straight to the point about Breast Cancer and what we should all be doing, butttttt by Humour! Check this link out:

YOUR MAN REMINDER

I loved it! hehehe

My wonderful friend Deborah Morandin from The Butterfly Experience also shared her amazing story with the crowd, as she herself is a survivor of cancer, many times OVER!

Here is her website:

The Butterfly Experience

And you can also find her on Facebook:

The Butterfly Experience Media & PR

But of course I think secretly we were all waiting for the Male Auction!

Let's just say it was interesting.... anddddd if I didn't have to pay my Mortgage it might have been a tad MORE interesting night LOL.

But Groover's the guys were such great sports about it! Seriously.... esp after a couple of the bidders put their men to work!

There was also one "Group Bid"

Geez that HOT BOY must of been exhausted by the end of the night! tee hee

Deb and I had lots and lots of fun!

And they even had a photo booth that we had a photo taken in!

And at the end of the night they announced the winners of the Silent Auctions along with the winner of the Chatterbox prize anddddddddddd drum roll please kids.....

My mate Deb won!!! It was very exciting and the gift was soooooo AMAZING!!! I know she was secretly chuffed as she kept singing to me for the rest of the night "I won me some Moet, I won me some Moet...."

A wonderful night was had by all and the next day was beautiful and fine and sooo nice to wake up 22 Floors high with such great views at The Holiday Inn in Surfers Paradise.

So kids if you are looking for somewhere close to all the action in Surfers Paradise,

The Holiday Inn at Surfers

is the place for YOU!

Michelle is also into Fashion and has her own label. And I have to share something with you Groover's: we bumped into her on Saturday afternoon and she had the most amazing dress on, I just wish I had thought to take a pic! But here is her website:

Glamour Party

So we checked out and then I hit the road for Coolum to visit my gorgeous friend Brenton and his dog Max! Of course I took Embee Louise along as well!

It was great to hang out in Coolum with them and again the weather was amazing!

Andddddd the wonderful weekend ended today with a special delivery all the way from America!!

So Xmas my friends has come early in the Morley House! Isn't Jake, Ashlee and Embee Louise LUCKY! hehehe.

Well that's it from me. Thanks to all the wonderful people who made my weekend so fun!!

love
