Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon and the Tooth Fairy!

Well the weekend is coming to a close. And for me it was a really lovely weekend in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast, catching up with friends.

But here is the thing. So you've probably heard of the 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon.

Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon is a trivia game based on the concept of the small world phenomenon and rests on the assumption that any individual can be linked through his or her film roles to actor Kevin Bacon within six steps. The name of the game is a play on the "six degrees of separation" concept. The game requires a group of players to try to connect any individual to Kevin Bacon as quickly as possible and in as few links as possible. In 2007, Bacon started a charitable organization named SixDegrees.org - Wikipedia.

It all started with a little visit to my hairdresser Jess.

Talk about a small world! A few weeks back she stumbled upon me on facebook as a friend of her Aunty (her Mum's best friend). You see I went to Primary School with Jess's Aunty.

Then I drove up to Caloundra and had lunch with my good friend Maureen aka Maur or at the moment Marge Simpson, as she has had laryngitis. I kid you not she sounded just like her.

Now, I became friends with Maureen back in 2005 via the Michael Buble website chat room. Everyone was from America, but there was this one person from the Sunshine Coast. We became good friends over the net and then when Michael was coming to Brisbane for a concert, we decided to meet and go together. But before we met we actually rang each other and had a big chat. As you do. Andddddd during our quite long conversation I found out she used to like a band in the 1980's called The Church. Then I remembered a girl when I was 15 and had my first job over the Christmas School Holidays for a department store called Coles, in Brisbane City.

Yep, you got it. Maureen worked there too and worked on the battery counter and I worked on the menswear counter. I remembered the girl on that counter due to her liking that band but mainly because she also had a guy called Adrian working on the counter, who was mighty cute! See even at 15, Eye Candy was my thing! hehehe

It's always great hanging out with Maureen. We have so much to talk about and catch up on. But if you had told me that I would meet a girl was I was 15 and then again 29 years later, from someone who used to like The Church (quite alternative) to Michael Buble, I would never have believed you.

So after seeing Maureen, I headed up to my other good friend from up that way, Jillian. Now I met Jillian around 2002 from when I worked in the Tourism Industry.

And when Jake and I did our Seachange to Caloundra, Jillian was very lovely and let me live in her house until we could move into our new house. She lived in Brisbane during the week and came home weekends, so she was lovely to trust her cute little Beachy house to me.

We had a lovely dinner at a little place called The Naked Turtle and I have to tell you that I had the best nights sleep up there last night. Awoke this morning feeling quite refreshed and had some breakfast - Toast with Vegemite (very Australian and very nice).

But can I just say I haven't really had toast quite like this one today. You see as I started to eat the toast I heard a crack andddddddddd yep, you got it, a piece of my tooth broke off. I KNOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. Crazy stuff.

I thought I had felt a crack yesterday but all I can say was thank goodness that it was at Jillian's house and not the night before at the restaurant, as I had to dig through my mushy toast in my mouth to find my tooth :(

Thank god it doesn't hurt. So tomorrow I am off to the dentist to see what has to happen next. Do you know I have never had a needle at the dentist let alone a filling since I was about 8. So I will try and be brave tomorrow.

So after I found my tooth, Jillian and I went to the Caloundra markets and then had some Thai for lunch. Now during lunch we got to talking about a guy we both used to work with that is kind of related to me.

But here is the thing. I was telling Jillian how at his wedding, I remember dancing with my Grandad, I would have been maybe 12 or so and that it was the first wedding I had ever been too and the first time I had tasted champagne. And I also remember my Grandad was a little tiddly (drunk) and was getting jiggy with it on the dance floor with his dance moves and swinging me around. hehehe

But here we go again. Jillian then says to me, you know I think I was at that wedding too! We could have even been dancing on the same dance floor. Jillian is a few years older than me, so she would have been a woman of the world back then and I was 12! LOL

Don't you think that it's amazing how sometimes in your life you know someone who knows someone you know!

It spins me out sometimes how people, in our lives, know these other people. And I have often heard how they say that people that come into our lives have been in our lives before, in a past life and that somehow we are all connected.....

Who knows what the truth is, but one thing I do know is that this happens quite alot in our lives and has me intrigued!

Night

Me xxx

P.S.
Do you think if I leave my 1/3 of a tooth under my pillow that I might get $10,000 from the Tooth Fairy? Ahhhhhhhhhh if this is the case I might pull a few more out tomorrow! hehehe
